Possible RA diagnosis

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hello everyone.  My dr thinks I have RA.  I've been sick for sick months on and off.  Fatigue, muscle pain, swelling in my right middle knuckle, discharge in eyes (gritty feeling), malaise, and just not feeling well.  I'm generally worse at the end of the day.

My follow up is a month away but I have my results.  My RA factor was <14 but my absolute monocytes are 1231 which is my only High out of range test.

there is definitely a war going on in my body.  Does anyone have any advice or thoughts on my test results?

    hello jay

sorry to hear your not having a good time at the moment, you don't mention excruciating pain, are you limited to what you can do? RA is very hard hard to diagnose as it is very complicated and general practitioners don't really know much about RA. It took me 10 years to get fully diagnosed as I had some characturistiscts of RA but they kept saying that it was Reactive Arthritis, RA factor is inconclusive, I am zero negative but have a very aggressive form and cannot manage at all with medication, currently am on methotrexate and Embrel. You may be referred to a rheumatologist but again its a very long road ahead.  Arm yourself with as much research as possible, it may be fibromyalgia or some other form of arthritis.  I hope its not RA for you as it is horrendous.. good luck buddy x
