Possible Radium Exposure

Posted , 3 users are following.

I unknowingly open an old luminous clock that may have contained radium paint. I am worried that I may have breathed in possible radium dust that was present in the clock. I have been reading on the health effects of radium and I am freaked out!. I do not even know if I was exposed or even if the clock had radium in it. If it was radium, how will the possible dust effect my health, would the effects be short term or long term, or is this just my hypochondria? And do the lungs have mechanisms to stop this king of dust from entering? Would love some feedback.

Thanks,

N.V
