Possibly mild herpes

Hi,

For maybe a year now I think I've been getting what seems to herpes outbreaks, I get the tingling and the redness then eventually the sore, the only thing is I only ever get them on my public area, and usually it's only 1 sore at a time, 2 at most. I don't get the flu like symptoms and it's never as awfully painful as everyone else's outbreaks seem to be, just mildly uncomfortable, however I do tend to get a sore probably as often as once a month, sometimes more. I was wondering if people think it's definitely still herpes and whether there's anything different I should be doing to treat it.

Thanks!

Well the flu like symptoms are from when soneone is first infected and not everybody gets that. I didn't get flu like symptoms, just really tired during my primary infection. Remember 80% of people w genital herpes are asymptomatic or symptoms so mild, they don't realize it's herpes. What you read online is worst case scenario, for those who have all the worst case scenarios of every possible symptoms you could have.

I have friends who have only done up w two or three sores or never a sore and just bumps.

If you've been displaying symptoms this long and it is herpes, you should get a type specific IgG Elissa test done.

Keep in mind HSV 1 can also be transmitted to the genitals.

Herpes can break out anywhere in the anogenital area. Most spoke who present symptoms, have recurrences in the same places.

Like I mentioned, most people don't have the extreme symptoms that you read online, just depends on how your body handled it. Even my primary wasn't very painful, just tender, but I had a rare case of sevre neuropathy due to my autoimmune disease's and herpes made my immune system go crazy. My recurrents don't hurt at all. Just might feel a lil sensitive if I were to touch it.

To me it sounds like herpes, but I'd go get tested to be sure.

When you have the once a month th sores, is it around that time of the month? Hormones will trigger herpes to come out in some. For me it dies on my third day of my cycle, but only one internal sore.

Thanks for this, I was pretty sure it was herpes but just wondered why it was so different from all the cases I've heard about.

As for when I get them it seems to be pretty random, I think stress or tiredness is probably a cause but it doesn't seem to line up with my periods. It's just sometimes irritating that I know some people seem to only have outbreaks a few times a year and mine is quite often, even though they aren't as severe.

      Thanks for your reply!

Hun, I have obs on a good month about twice a month. Once on my period and then if I go out Late and drink lots liquor, that will be a trigger for me too. This is all even w me taking daily suppressive. I have just had 6 obs back to back now for two months and I've had it over a year...

Maybe if you get on daily suppressive, it'll stop yours completely.

May I ask what made you not get tested or address this after all this time? How do you feel about it?

Are yours quite severe? Do you bother with any herbal or natural remedies on top or your surpressive or do find them pointless?

It took me a while to link that it could actually be herpes, especially since I wasn't really getting sores at first and it wasn't actually on my genitals which is what I had always thought it was restricted to, it's only really been in the last couple of months I've really realised what it is and I've been trying to talk myself into getting checked out. I think I'm okay with it though, and I think I'll ask about suppressive treatment to see if that stops me getting ob's quite so often

Nope, they don't hurt. What bothers me is, I get tenderness, nipping or a dull ache in my butt Bone's and it can bother me to sit on hard surfaces, even w out an OB. It's like my nerves were never the same down there again. Other than that, I either get a red bump or just a red patch of sensitive skin. Doesn't hurt.

I do best when I'm consistent w my supplements, which I hadn't been the last couple of months. What's hlped me are the following, based solely on nerve function and repair and boosting your immune system.

      - zinc

      - magnesium

      - multivitamin

      - probiotic

      - 2000mlgs of Vit C

      - 5000UI of D3

On no hin, I get red bumps on my butt cheeks all the time. Even asnlow as tight in the crease of the bottom of the cheek. Had it at the top of my crack too. My friend get two or 3 only from the very beginning on her public bone area too.

Well I'm glad you're handling it well. Sounds like you've suspected for awhile and just didn't want to accept it and may be why it's not such a blow to you. Remember, the right thing to always do is disclose and yes, you can be contagious at times w no OB present.

What neuropathy issues did you have if you don't mind me asking

    Hi alex26232

Sorry to hear of your problems.

I have had hsv1 genitally for 7 years now but only recently was diagnosed due to very mild symptoms like yours. I never used to get full blown sores, just small red patches. Now years later I am getting more pronounced symptoms and blisters even on suppressive therapy.

I do believe stress has a lot to do with it - so as hard as it is try and take some time for you to relax.
