    Hi Stacy,

I just had my surgery on April 7 (10 wks ago) and have 3 screws holding my medial malleolus together because it had to be cut and removed during my surgery to repair a bone lesion inside my talus. I have been doing a lot of research regarding the hardware (screws and such) and I was wondering if that could be the culprit of your swelling? Have you talked to your orthopedic surgeon about removing your hardware? Do you still have any pain? Or just swelling?

Also, since you have been through the recovery, I have a few questions for you. I am just starting to walk without crutches, in my sneakers. It is very painful and I have almost zero dorsiflexion. I am going to PT 3x/wk. Was it painful when you started full weight bearing? How was your dorsiflexion? How long were you walking before you felt like things started getting back to normal?
