Post COVID

Hello,

I have been going through the following that developed 8 weeks after testing positive for COVID and rebounding after taking paxlovid. Fatigue, loss of appetite, major anxiety, brain fog, insomnia. I have been on short term disability since Aug 15 and going on FMLA because my Short term disability ended 9/20. I told my doctor several times I have not been able to sleep. But she really didn't pick up on that I guess. I finally had to break down to her and tell her I needed help. The NP I saw in her office before that put me on buspar for anxiety on an as needed basis. That helped a little bit but not with the insomnia. So my doctor put me on Paxil. I told her I had a low tolerance for medication so it was a very low dose. And was told that it would make my anxiety worse before it would get better and to push through it for 3 weeks. And that did not make sense to me. I took it for 4 days and could not handle all the side effects I was getting from it. I reached out to her again and said I really need to sleep because I am not sleeping. Finally on 9/16 she prescribed two meds. Why she did that is beyond me. 15mg of mirtazapine and 50mg terazodone. I was told to take half of the 15mg which is 7.5 mirtazapine. And the pharmacist said do not take the buspar with this medicine. I took it Friday night at 8pm and slept through the night with exception of waking up 2 times to go the bathroom. Went back to sleep each time. Felt good the next the day but was groggy. Then the next night I took the terazodone started with 25mg and through out the night bumped up the dose 25mg until I had hit 100mg at 1am. It did not work, I had to reach out to a 24hr walgreens pharmacist to see what else I could take to get to sleep. He suggested a little piece of a 7.5 half I ended up taking a little crumb of it. I tried to sleep and ended up taking 5mg of melatonin at 6 am. It didn't work either. I was awake all day until the evening very tired and groggy but could not sleep. That night I took the 7.5 mirtazapine which I didn't get the same result as the first time I took it and assumed I still had terazodone still in my system. 3rd night taking 7.5 on Monday it was same the feeling I got when taking on Friday. I slept in increments though. I woke up 5 times throughout the night until I got up in the morning still feeling the groggy feeling. Took it last night woke up 6 times 2nd, 4th, and 6th time going to the bathroom and making myself go back to sleep. My doctor told me to continue taking the 7.5mg at least 2 weeks before I decided I want to get off of it. I hate taking western medicine and try to do the more natural approach. I am meeting with my doctor via video visit in half hour. And I am thinking I should tell her to prescribe the 7.5 dose so I can break that into 3.75. and take that instead and hope that I can get a better result. Will the grogginess stop soon? I just want to get back to being myself before all this happened. Is anyone else is experiencing this?
