Hey guys. Does anyone’s ankle swell and hurt at the begining after surgery to remove hardware? i had my surgery last month, i have just gone into normal shoes two weeks ago. yesterday i had a day where i walked heaps and today i got up and its all stiff and red and swollen!

I gad 2 large screws removed in June, the rest of the hardware remains for ever. My foot did swell afterwards but it was red or painful. In fact, nowadays my ankle swells almost every evening especially after I have been walking or standing (which is worse) a lot. My specialist tells me it is normal and will go on for a year.
