Post Herpetic Itch- all over body itching normal following shingles?

I have had this horrible itching which seems worse when I'm warm, in bed, following a bout of shingles ( my first bout, I'm early 40s)

Its worse in my extremities, lower legs and arms.

Has anyone experienced anything like this, my shingles only presented on my left buttock so I don't understand why I am itching elsewhere.
