Post Hida Scan

hi all,
I'd love some insight. I had s hida scan yesterday morning after a month of right side pain, not being be able to eat and nausea. I've had a bunch of other tests also. It took forever for her to visualize my gall bladder and in the last 5 minutes she said " I'm much mom confident that's your gall bladder now". I did not feel super confident after that.
She gave me the cck and I was worried about nausea but no, I did get a massive increase in pain about 15 minutes in. It went from the normal squeeze stabby pain to a band being tightened around my whole chest. Awful..
Afterwards, as soon as I sat up I was hit by intense nausea and actually had to sit in the bathroom on the way out to try and catch my breath. I was crying from the pain and then just started vomiting. When I got home, I had crazy diarrhea all afternoon and felt like I'd been run over by a ruck. My stomach was painful to the touch
today I cannot tolerate food at all, thrown up everything I've eaten( toast) and have been blacking out a few times. My right side is rigid and hurts like heck. I have pain through my ribs, my shoulder and back.
What is is going On? Will this fade over the next few days?

Hi, it is usual for gallbladder pain to have pain in your ribs, back and shoulder but I would suggest if it hurts to much to should go to A&E. I had a HIDA scan before christmas but they didn't give me cck but a fatty drink which produces pain within about 10 minutes. I know I felt worse afterwards and had to rest all afternoon because it aggravated the pain and made it worse but I was able to put up with it. Please go to a&e if the pain is really bad and they'll give you something for the pain and probably do some blood tests to check your white cell count. Problems with the gallbladder do vary from person to person but we also have alot of similarities, keep putting your symptoms on here and someone will answer whose the same as you. Don't suffer in silence, keep in contact on here it really does help.
Take care

Thank you, I went to er initially a month ago for suspected appendicitis and the bill was 15k so now.....I'm more hesitant to go unless I genuinely think I'm about to die. The pain was my companion all night. Kept me up but lessened in my shoulder.
This morning it's just the same side pain and nausea 😔

yes, I can see why you're hesitant. The pain does lessen even if it doesn't go away completely. I've had it constantly for months now and gets worse as I eat so I always end up going to bed in pain and waking up in pain. Some days are easier than others, just a more managa ble pain. Remember to stay fat free and keep your fluid intake up as that is the really important as you don't want to get dehydrated.
I find now I get less nausea but I thinks thats because I've be low fat for months now and no take aways or sugar fix, which is my weak point! It was definately worse after the HIDA scan because the meds aggravate it to get a reaction so they can see how the gallbladder is working. Have they told you what your ejection fraction is, as that will explain alot.
keep in touch

I haven't gotten the results yet and now I assume I'll have to wait till Monday. I actually haven't been able to eat anything but toast for the last month so no fat is happening at all. I'm struggling with the lack of nutrition lately and am seeing the effects in my forgetfulness and language. I've tried smoothies, nutrition bars, ensure. I just can't tolerate any of it.

yes, my memory is awful at the moment, its so frustrating but I think some of it is due to the painkillers and hopefully once everything is better I'll get back to normal. I tried nutrition bars but they are too high in sugar and make me feel really sick too. I find I can't lift things I use too so my muscle tone is alot less now. I've been eating pasta, rice, noodles with a little chicken or fish. If I decide to try a sweet fix I make my own as I know the sugar and fat content and tend to only eat a little of plain cake. You'll find whats good for you but I know its not easy.
Keep me updated on everything. take care
