Post L5 S1 Microdiscetomy Leg Pain

Posted , 3 users are following.

Dear all,

I am now 6 days post op and although the majority has been positive I have been struggling with a lot of sciatia and leg pain the last few days. I have been able to go for short walks which is great but have been struggling when I sit down massively. Have been completing the exercises as well but I would love to get some advice from people who have gone through the same recently.

Many thanks in advance

Nick

    Hello Nick

I emailed you back not sure if you got my response.

Only sit if you have too, exercises only breath in and hold your stomach in for 2 weeks post op. Little walks that's it. Seems like you have had the op and been left to your own devices.

Private email me and I;ll be in touch.

The pain needs to be managed. I still have more pain then before the idea with me was to relieve the compression. Any u had surgery which 2ad planned keep the excerise up will help alot but what ur feeling is normal. Bit of luck and u will be fine in time.

I had a infection around 15 days are my operation that put me back in Kings longer the the operation period. Yes u could have a infection which cause inflammation if ur having a scan that should spot it hang in their. I had a big operation to do my incisional hernias along my old scar tissue it end more complicated as the tissue had grown on to my stomach muscles. That was 12th of march. I am in so much pain all over my belly. Don't help my sciatic is bad my left leg is the good leg but I have a problem with the knee it locks .I am worried if that goes my bad leg won't support me . So hang in their my last scan shows most of my back I have disc s bulging narrowing. But they just leave it. That's seems the norm now days .
