Post Menopausal
Posted , 7 users are following.
I am 59 yrs old and had my last period 10 yrs ago triggered by Chemo for Breast Cancer.
Over the last 5/7 days I have been bleeding from the vaginal area and with period type symptoms. Swollen ambdomen, mood swings and extreme back ache.
Went to Hospital GP yesterday who only confirmed it needs to be looked into too!
Any thoughts and advise would be appreciated.
Feeling something is wrong for this to be happening now, 10 months after I was widowed.

Hi there, I am sorry for what you are going through. So very sorry for the lose of your husband.
I am 59 this yr and post menopause for 2 years. I have been through a lot of health scare but THANK GOD I am much better now.
Stress is a big factor in our health issues. But for your peace of mind, please have a thorough test with specialist. While you are waiting, maybe try to occupy your time with any activity you can find. Idle minds are NO GOOD. I find myself worrying about all things when I am not busy and it messes up my health.
Pray. Ask God to guide you. He is what keeps me going.
God bless.

It sounds like a period, but seems like it shouldn't be happening 10 years post meno.
However, maybe your ovaries are still producing hormones and all the stress can bring something like this back on? Listen, one thing I've learned is that when it comes to hormones, anything is possible. My sister-in-law is 59 and still getting regular periods.
Only a GYN will be able to tell you what's going on when they look at you. So try not to worry until you know, and even then, if it's something that can be done about it, there's no need to worry. You might just be needing an ablation to clean out whatever was left in your uterus.
Will be thinking of you. So sorry about your husband.
XO
