Thank you I am going to the Dr .it's really up set me to be honest started yesterday completely out of the blue only thing that changed was prior to this for the last 8days all the hot flushes and night sweats stopped which was always a sign in the past I was coming on

Yep. Those symptoms are caused by a decrease in estrogen. When you have a period, you produce estrogen so the hot flashes go away. Let us know what the doctor says but I feel confident that you just thought it was over. Surprise!

Always best to check with the doctor. However, you're said to be in menopause when you haven't had a period in 12 months. But you're only 4 months past that. I wouldn't think that's long enough to be concerned. 12 months is probably the norm but we don't all follow the norm. I didn't. I had a period after more than 2 years! I was checked out and totally fine. Does it seem just like your usual periods?

Hi becky .it does now feel like a proper period but started off like brown discharge yesterday .its just such a shock as not pains or anything

That's normal. And you're nearing menopause so things can be a bit different. I know how hard it is not to worry, but I really think you're fine. Glad you're going to the doctor though.

Thank you .I can't stop crying today and my heads all over the place feeling really miserable to be honest and very upside down.

Still feeling rubbish today although I slept better due to being exhausted by it all .Full blown period now .Still feeling anxious about seeing the Dr later and what he might say .

Just seen the Dr he wants me to go for a scan to see what is happening with my uterus and overys .I am feeling very worried about it to be honest .

I had to do that too. And remember, it had been over 2 years since I had a period! All was fine. They just have to check and be sure. So try not to worry. Easier said than done, I know. I went through it. And if they tell you that you have a cyst on your ovary don't worry. They go away. I've had several.

Many of my family have had the wierd experience of PERIOD REVIVAL. Check with doc, I am sure he will explain that is not uncommon, and usually goes away again within a few cycles.Love Stella42

Thank you for your message its good to hear these things .It's such a difficult time for women so many changes inside and out sometimes it hard to stay in control of what's happening .my scan is this Friday so please god all will be okay .

It will youll see. Its hard being a woman. Some golden years haha. Back in our parent generations they didnt have these horrible pills they give out if they want to clear the lining they did a d and c and in three days you were all perfect again. I think a lot of these things we go thru is natural but the doctors make it unnatural if you know what i mean. They make it abnormal when it isnt the body knows very very well how to fix it self with certain things, it doesnt always need the doctors pills and such. Anyway, good luck with your scan, even if they say your linning thickened please know thats not dangerous. Some give a pill to spark your period and it take abt two weeks to thin back out (you get to bleed) and others do a d and c.

Thanks for your kind words. It is a very strange time indeed and I come across people who don't understand at all what it's like to be a worrier about health and live in a world of " What ifs " I wish I could just say it's one of those things and not worry about it .I do think in my mum's day it was just as it happens but today we know maybe a little to much . The trouble is if I didn't get it checked and it kept happening I would be frantic .

Agreed and you should check it out. I would love to be a laid back, calm person myself. Im in awe of those people. Only know a small handful like that everyone seems rushed and anxious otherwise.

Very true Lisa those people are lucky I wish I was more easy come easy go. Sometimes I think maybe I should try and then I find I am always trying to justify myself for being this was to them .AS I said I can be strong and very positive for all but not for me .
