Dawn i started hrt 2 1/2 years ago thinking this would be the miracle pills. they take a tremendous amount of time to work but slowly, slowly, slowly you will notice a difference 60% of women quit before they take the full effect. i still have issues (new ones too) but i have gotten to a better place mentally and physically i hope you stick with it .

    Hi Dawn,

I'm not currently on HRT myself but have done a fair bit of reading on the topic. In perimenopause women follow what is called a sequential regime where they take estrogen continuously for the 28 days but only take progesterone for a certain number of days (about 2 weeks on then two weeks off). This regime causes a bleed. In post menopause ladies can continue on a sequential regime or change to a continuous regime where progesterone is taken daily along with the estrogen. I would double check the dosage as I thought 200mg was the dose for when it is taken in a sequential regime (set number of days) and 100mg for when it is taken continuously. I am not a medical professional so please clarify with someone who is qualified. Some ladies find that they experience side effects from the progesterone so prefer to remain on a sequential regime. From what I have read, it can take a while to feel the full benefit of HRT. It can also take a while to find the right one or regime that suits you. Hope this was helpful and I hope you start to feel better soon.
