Post nasal drip and clogged ear for about 4 months

I've had a muffled, clogged ear (which crackles and pops sometimes has a second or two of pain , when I chew sounds like an elephant is walking in my ear, and post nasal drip for about 4 months now. I saw my GP and she said my ears are the cleanest she's seen in a long time and didn't see anything abnormal. I saw an EENT last week and he said the same thing. Dont understand how I am not inflamed with this being chronic. EENT said it could be early hearing loss ( which I dont think would cause post nasal drip or crackling when I blow my nose), TMJ ( which I explained I know when that flares up, i can hardly move my jaw and that pain is lower than the ear), or eustachian tube dysfunction. He wants me to get a hearing test first. But I think the test would show slight hearing loss of that ear is clogged! I also had blood work done that showed my wbc, absolute lymphocytes and absolute neutrophils are low. She wants me to see a hematologist. She said it could be from a chronic infection virus in my ear noone can see but really is leading me to the looney bin... so annoying.

I should add i have tried antihistamines, ear wax kits, nasal flushes, and physical manipulation to my mouth and ear to try to get it to pop. Sometimes the sensation feels like its ready to pop any second and nothing happens.

Wanted thought and ideas on this before i write my friends from an institution saying my ear brought me here....

hey tina sorry to hear about that....well i have sinusitis for almost a year now and i have maxillary and ethmoid sinusitis...Initial days i had the problem of ear fullness and pain nothing seemed to help me....my ear was ok...but still felt fullness...tried many antibiotics and nasal sprays but it kept coming.....then my ENT gave me nasal wash with antibiotics, antifungals, steroids and mucolytics...I used it everyday for 3 months and now the symptoms have improved a lot...I keep washing my sinuses with normal saline and it is ok now....with that i took care that when i sleep my sinuses drain properly and used 2 pillows....and also steam inhalation twice a day.....

post nasal drip's most common cause is sinusitis....and with that ear problem mainly suggest the sinusitis....did you have your head CT? and you also have TMJ ......well with your low WBC you should see hematologist...may be something they can explain regarding your current problem...Hope you find it helpful and get well soonbiggrin

I think it is chronic sinusitis but EENT said everything looked fine. He wont fo anything for sinusitis because he sees nothing that represents it. I think my wbc could be low because they are so depleted from fighting the infection for so long. I'm not a dr tho. Not sure how he could see nothing if I feel so clogged.
