POST NASEL DRIP

Hi

I have been reading all the comments on here regarding this and just had to write about my experience.  I have a post nasel drip (its the thick gloopy kind and not related to allergies apparently) for nearly ten years.  After seeing many specialists and trying many treatments I was driven to destraction.  I never slept, unfortunately lying down made the situation worse.  I am a nose breather and felt that air was not going into my lungs due to blockages.  It brought on huge axiety issues as I was convinced I would choke in my sleep and on occations I would find myself woken up choking up huge globs of the stuff that had gathered in the back of my throat it was disgusting. Many of the doctors I saw said I had a deviated septum but as the inside of was nose was so dry and the risk of infection was high and that it would not make any difference.  I then saw a specialist who said he was prepared to take the risk.  As I was so desperate I went private and the operation took place a few days later.  What a difference it made.  Yes I still had the drip but it was as if there was now room for it to travel down my nose and throat.  I now sleep better and only have the occational realy bad nights and flare ups.  My quality of life has improved greatly. It may not work for all and didnt cure me but it helped reduce the symptoms so that I could cope with them better.
