hey ladies, I'm 12 weeks post op of an dermoid cyst of 10cm and right ovary removal... Recently been to see the doctor as was experiencing some pain in lower abdomin, this is still here but it's not every day... Still a little worried that something else could happen in my lady area.! My doctor advised me to do a wee sample as I was in pain going to the toilet but I haven't heard anything yet! Still having dreams about stupid things... Think this will eventually drive me insane sad xxxx

I'm only at 3 weeks postop so not sure. I do have UTI which was determined by my primary care doc. Everyone heals differently and there are so many nerves that are traumatized during surgery. Hope tests resolve issue.

I am now 10 months post op, I had a 30cm dermoid cyst, right ovary and Fallopian tube removed. Also a 6cm dermoid cry st from left ovary, all done by keyhole. For months after I had pain low down in my abdomen and in my lower back on the left hand side. I had pain when going to the toilet. I went for a CT scan as they were worried it may have been a post op hernia at the site of the insertions/wounds. It wasn't, I eventually saw my consultant 3 months post op who told me it would take 4-6 months to fully heal on the inside and that I would still feel pain.

I am now pain free, but he was right it took a good 4-6 months. It might not look like much on the outside cos its keyhole, but on the inside its a massive operation with lots of nerve endings to heal. They're not gentle when they do these ops, so you're totally battered and bruised on the inside.

Good luck with the recovery girls x

Just to let you know I have up and down days I have cried a lot I'm wondering sometimes is it a bit of depression as I said before I have days were I'm very anxious don't know if its maybe from the anaesthetic cause I would be dizzy sometimes..

Hey Louise hope your ok smile  xx

yeh I had a  Good day yesterday, put some make up, some perfume on and some nice summer clothes... Made myself feel really good! Went and saw my friend in hospital who is suffering with the same as us cysts on the bloody ovaries! Mad hey! Hmmm I said the exact same thing to my best friend about being depressed and she just said its probably the hormones going crazy and working twice as hard ... Think I need to see the doc again really as I'm up and down quite a lot and it's not fair on my boyfriend!  Are you still feeling quite anxious ?

Hope you had a lovely weekend xxx

    Hi all

I have been a little depressed pretty much the last 12 months, up and down days ever since my problems started. I thought post op all that would be gone along with the pain but it seems not. I am menstruating right now which doesn't help but the pain in my right pelvic area was as bad as it's ever been on waking today 😩. Feels like will never get better. I'm just glad that I will see the consultant 8 weeks post op. Ring the hospital Stacey and see if you can see your surgeon as surely they should see you after to check all ok?

Hey Louise 😊. Hope you are well?

How long are you post op ? What surgery did you have if you don't mind me asking ? See my pains keep coming and going.. But I'm going to the toilet (weeing) a lot more than usual... Whilst at work I can go about 6-7 times... I had my first period since my op last week and it was HELL lol felt like my insides were getting ripped apart sad

I used my hot water bottle majority of the day it was my saviour! I feel like some days I'm on the longest road to recovery then some days I'm good with minimal pain! Think i might say something to my doctor if I can be referred back, but he felt my stomach last a week and half ago and said there was no lumps or serious pain... I was like I know but you've just caught me on a good day grrrr 😡

hope we you had a good weekend and the pain hasn't been too bad xxx

      Hi Stacey

I am 11 days post op now. I had a laparoscopy and they cut my ovary free as it had adhesions to surrounding tissue. still bad today and yesterday. Seems to flare up more if j wear trousers with waistbands that press on the area. Too weird 😞

      Louise
