Hi so pleased op went well I am seeing my consultant Tues to discuss op for my hiatus hernia nice to hear a positive outcome, the research I have done on diet after have only found what you have written, jelly, yoghurts, clear juice and soaps. Hope the time passes quickly for you and you can soon eat properly. How is the shoulder pain from the op heard it can be troublesome

Hi Linda thank you for your response!

The shoulder pain was awful at first but it's died down now and feels more like I've slept awkward the first three nights the pain was bad and it's like you can't get comfortable but it's by far the worst part but also worth it not to stuffer with the hernia if that makes sense?

Glad your going to your consultant me too had heard and read some horror stories but so far so good my consultant seemed pleased

    Hi Braker,

Not had the op - but did look at a few diet sheets for post -op as I too hope to get a repair op. I read that custard is ok too - love love love custard! although it woudn't have to be thicker than yogurt! Being a totally frustrated foodie ( as my hernia don't let me eat my faves) I would be making every flavour of soup there is so I got a range of flavour. If you simmer the soup long enough to get all the goodness out of the ingredients, then sieve out/ strain the solids out you will get a tasty liquid soup.

      Hi glennie

Didn't think of custard will try that 2mro just for a change rather then plain jelly and yogart!! I will also try your soup recipe so I have a bit of variety! I too was restricted in what I could eat before the op but I pray that after I'm healed that I would be able to eat as normal!! How far along your journey towards the op are you? C

      Hi Braker,

I am seeing a surgeon in December. I have problems with the meds and am fairly sure that the hernia keeps tweaking my vagus nerve as I get pins and needles in my hands and across my shoulders. Kedp getting dizzy spells too but that could be the meds. I would say otherwise

I am ok. I hope you go from strength to strength!

Hellothere. I haveben told that i have small sliding hiatal hernia. The last gastrenterologist that i saw said that my problem isn't my hernia at all. i hade IBS and cannor control it.it had now been said that I have systemic candida. Cuased from too many antibiotics over the years also contraceptive pill for years. I cannot eat sugar or fruit as the acidburns my whole stomack. Get vaginal burning and also bowel problem (Which is what has been the cause of my hiatal hernia.) Born with yeast infection caused from infection from the birth canal during delivery. No dr wants to really diagnose this as he loses a patient if you are cured. nd the pharmecutical companies don't make their profits. This systemic candida has been proven to be a great link with cancer in all parts of the body...FACT NOT FICTION> Does your mouth burn and your throat scald?
