Post op after seton removal

Hi

I'm post op of 2 days of having two seton sutures removed. They had been inserted and replace approx 6 times in the last 3 years due to trying not to damage the sphincter muscle ( sorry if mispelt).the surgeon has been great . He has now said he has cut them open and leaving them to heal by themselves. That's great there's always a but . He did this 3 years ago and that's when they turned into fistula. I've been told I don't have chrons even though I have a lot of the symptoms. My gp claims the joint pain I've got all over could be down to gout. I'm at my wits end . Has anyone else been in this situation. If so any advice would be appreciated. Oh forgot to say when I had my op the now say I have glucose in my urine. Could that be tied into everything else that's going on or is it going to be something else for them to never find the cause of. Sorry about such the long winded explanation . Kind regards to anyone who reads this and reply.

Many thanks lesley

I have Glucose in my urine too if I eat too much sugar for my system. This does not need to be alot of sugar, if I have fruit or even a small cake I know it is going to give me problems. I know what to do to avoid it, it's not much fun but life could be worse. There is another group for this if you want to search the forum for glucose in urine.

Re Gout what are you doing to control this?

If you want have a look at Perianal Abscess Organistation and the other posts here on the site, there is alot of valuable information here. If you have an abscess it is not always clear what the underlying reason is but diet changes certainly helped me and other people here on the forum. Not the easiest thing to do but my advice is speak to your doctor and ask if he can organise an appointment with a dietician to help you.

I hope this is of help to you. Please let us know how you get on.

    Hi Lesley

You read a bit dejected. I know the feeling. I'm 51 male and if it's not one thing it's another. I know I don;t look after myself all that well but I'm not a stagnet slob either. Oh, not saying you ar either.

I have to admit, my gp has been through a battery of tests and in lloks like some of it is going to end up being mental health - anxiety. I think I need to accept that because it is a nagging thought anyway.

Keep trying to work through it all is my advice. EVRY time I think I've got it bad I come across someone or hear of some shoes I am glad I am not in and my troubles pale to insignificance in comparison

    Cheers
