Post op Ankle incision pain

hey came across this googling and seemed to read good feedback on other's symptoms so here goes my shot!

I am 9 days post op os trigonum, brostrom ligament reconstruction combined (doozy) I have my first post op appt in two days.

Pain had been so hard to handle. They gave me gabapentin for nerve pain that helps, but is it normal to feel incision sit pain at like a solid 7-8 constantly? When I go from elevating my foot to standing on my crutches WOOOO it BURNS like a ring of fire around my whole ankle I have to just stand there until it slightly settles in and feels like my foot is swelling up- once I go back to elevating it this goes away. I am still in a thick cast, that will be gone in two days , no wetness and no discoloration on my skin/toes.

just curious to others experiences, am I alone? its so much more painful than I anticipated

I had my stitches removed yesterday and my ankle is on fire at the incisions on either side of my ankle. For me it's bad even with my foot elevated. It's not as noticeable when I'm hopping around on crutches but it was hard to sleep or relax. I've googled it and I haven't found out much about it, but I am experiencing what you described. I wonder if I'm inflating my Aircast too much
