im now 6 months post op anterior. i had 3 months off work and 3 months phased return on reduced hours. 2 weeks ago i went back full time and am struggling. im a fit 50 but my job is full on n stressful..... teacher. im struggling with periods n poops as my bowel has now dropped slightly after the front was fixed. still uncomfortable walking standing sitting although some improvement over time. but soooo tired n fed up with not feeling like old self. also on loads of hormones apparently to aid healing but have not gone through the menopause. does anyone recognise this as i dont want to feel like the only one n should i be feeling better at this stage. . my gp had just reduced my hrs by a day so i can recharge midweek but work not to happy about this n recon i should be back to normal by now.... argh..... please tell me im not alone lol xxx

I have had posterior and anterior repairs done within two years of each other. My last op was in january of this year and I still don't feel completely well. I still have problems with going to the loo and my bladder wall will need another repair eventually. It just seems never ending! Although I volunteer in school I find it difficult for toilet breaks and certainly could not go back to working full time in school. I am retired now fortunately and am a lot older than you (71) but am bringing up my nine year old grandson and have a horse to look after so very active! I think it is one of those operations that people just don't realise takes a lot of time to get over. I had previously had a hysterectomy and healed from that in the anticipated time GP predicted and got back to work but with these two ops although done vaginally and no incision through abdomen they have taken months to recover from. I wish you well and hope your GP is able to help with meds.
