Post Op Bleeding

I was wondering what kind of bleeding or spotting people had after their posterior repair. I am on my 2nd week, but also second week of my period. My ob put me on dreaded birth control to stop it but its not working so far. Guess I just wanted to confirm there isn't a lot bleeding usually. I've been reaching out to my ob bc my specialist seems confused. I'm fed up yo say the least.

The post-op bleeding wasn't terrible for long. It was there, but not like say, childbirth. However, ever since my operation my periods have been ridiculously heavy and painful. Heavy enough I've started to get light-headed sometimes, and, like many, my GYN was basically useless.

He did advise me to use ibuprofen to try slowing the bleeding, but with me at least, it doesn't reduce the blood loss as much as delays the cramping some so I end up just losing it all once it starts wearing off.

I don't know if this helps, but is my experience with a little relation.

I'm struggling to figure out whats post op bleeding and whats period bc mine started like literally a week after my surgery which was not ideal. Prior to that i was having minor spotting but hardly anything. I was planning to go back to work next week, but I'm swaying now because of this.

I'd definitely think about working after 3 wks recovery. it takes 12 wks to make strong scar tissue with the repair.

I know done days we feel good and want to get back to normality but 3 wks is way to doing hun.

at least get passed at yiur 6 wks check from yiur consultant if I was you.

these repairs can fail if we return to normal too soon. hope this helps above been there with my first repair and I rested for 8 wks but it still failed. x

I have decided im definitely not rushing back. I am calling my obgyn tomorrow because my specialist said the pains I'mhaving are unrelated to thr surgery. It's more lower back and between my hip bones area. Hoping he can help me feel somewhat human again.

Specialists don't like admitting there is a lot of pain from this surgery in a larger area. Did your Dr. only do a rectocele repair, or also a sacrospinous ligament fixation? Another thing that's not been mentioned is the position they have you in for the surgery can cause pain in your back and hips. It absolutely did mine, but I cannot recall how long it took for that part of the pain to let up.
