I'm day 3 from my fistula repair and today I noticed stool coming through the abscess external opening again. Please tell me this has happened before and is okay...

Hi Megan. I had the same problem you are currently experiencing earlier this year, and it's not pleasant! This is a lot more common than you think, so please don't feel like you're alone in what you're going through. I recommend you visit the hospital where you had your procedure, and ask to see the surgical doctor who performed the repair. And please make sure that you are dealing with a colorectal specialist. And if you're not, make it clear that you want to see one. Things will ease up and get better though, just be firm with the doctor and tell them how uncomfortable it is for you. I could tell you about my experience, but I would be here all day lol.
