Post Op Planning

In a way I'm glad the way my hip replacement came about...my hip was fractured for 2 weeks and I didn't know it...I thought it was bursitis or something and I'd wait it out. I was shocked when ER told me. I had surgery next day, came home day after that. I had no preparations but was lucky enough not to need anything. At my 2 week followup last week ...dr. said I was best outcome he'd ever had...no need for physical therapy....just exercise a little on my own.

I guess I'm telling everyone this...make plans, but don't overthink it....it might go easier than you're imagining.

well done you ! i was much the same but 2 days not knowing it was broken

but as i said did soooo well i got bit carried away and dislocated

recovered well from that too but bit of a shock

overall general health weight age and fitness all make a different outcome

As with you, a shock at the fracture, and just as much a shock how easy the recovery. (you had a bit of a bump in the road, but generally an easy time.)

Good to hear positive outcome and hope things progress well . Keep at the exercises and it will all be a distant memory .
