post op question

Hi I was wondering if someone could help me please. I had my gastric bypass on the 21/02/2015 I'm on stage one of smooth liquid diet. I have not been able to open my bowels so if anyone got any tips or advice please. Xxxx

    Hi I had my Gastric Bypass on the 28th January I had same trouble but got some Movecol a mild laxative from GP this is a liquid one too !!! I'm not able to eat much even now I can manage a tiny bit of wheatabix warm milk or readybreak or smooth soup ive tried mushed up food but thow up so staying with fluids and soup !! hope this helps Wendy xxx Good luck

    Hi Natasha, I'm still on the pre-op milk diet, I'm having the same problem with constipation , I was bad over the weekend & took constipation tablets from Asda they did the trick but I've been having a movical in the mornings just to be on the safe side, you would'nt think you can get so bunged up when on liquid diet.     Hi you can take milk of magnesia you can get this is supermarkets it helped me "go".

    Look, perhaps your expectations are too high. In any event it is unwise to heed medical advice from untrained people like me. Please go back to your Doctor and make sure that you have a written list of "symptoms" so that you can discuss your issues properly. You must express your real concern.Don't be fobbed off with warm words. You don't know whether your symptoms are to be expected or whether there is an underlying problem.  Ask you Doc to get you into see the consultant or arrange for a telephone interview.
