Post Op Review

Had my post op review today (a bit early, at not quite 4 weeks) which surprised my surgeon, he initially thought that there was a problem.

I reassured him that nothing was wrong, apart from the fact that I still had the stitches in as no one seemed to be able to remove them, and that it was just an early appointment.

He removed the stitches (with a bit of tugging) and then reminded me that most of the 6 week restrictions still applied.  However, I could start sleeping on my left side (the operated side) but not on my right side, which is ok by me as I prefer to sleep on my left side anyway.

I asked if I could drive, to which he initially said no, until I pointed out that I drove an automatic, then he changed his mind and said that I could.  Good news, as I live in a village with very limited public transport which is not accessible for me as I live at the bottom of a steep hill and the bus stop is at the top of the hill (of course it is)!

Yippee, now all I’ve got to do is be good for the next 2 weeks until all the restrictions have gone and then start to exercise and lose this blasted weight!

Wish me luck!

    Dear Chloe

Ex excellent news that you are on the verge of getting your independence back. Before moving to my present address I lived in a very remote rural place where there was no public transport and shops were eight miles away so I do know how you must be finding it!

    Cheers Richard
