Post-op Swelling Above Incision?

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi all,

I'm 10 days after a cyst and ovary removal laparotomy, and fibroid removal. There is very prominent swelling above my incision - has anyone experienced this or have any advice that they got from their doc? The incision and the skin underneath is flat. I'm wondering if this is something that will subside over time? Or if it's something concerning? Fluid or fat cell build-up? Of course I'll ask my doctor too, at my follow-up appointment and will let you know what she says -- just thought I'd ask here too before my follow up. Thank you so so much!!!

Thank you so much for the response! It's good to know it will go down over time. I have my follow up appointment in a few days and will let you know what my doctor says. I really do hope your recovery is smooth!
