Post-op umbilical hernia

I had a hernia surgery 10 days ago. They found two hernias, a small supra-umbilical one and a large epigastric one. It was open surgery with a mesh.

The incision is rather small, 4 cm, just above the umbilicus. There was almost no pain since from the day one after the surgery, except, of course, when making some movements. The wound is perfectly fine. Nothing is red or swollen, no fever. After 3-4 days of constipation, that's back to normal as well.

24 hrs after the surgery I had a long, frequent and unstoppable hiccups running for about 8 hours. That was really unpleasant. They stopped as they started and didn't start again. However, I still have a bit of a problem. It's not real burping, more something like a single hiccup or a hint of a burp that happens  a couple of times a day. I don't know how to describe it better. It's not particularly annoying, but it does worry me a bit. It also happens that I feel a subtle tremble propagating through my abdomen after some movements (after a yawn, for example).

For the long series of the hiccups the doctor told me that it could be caused either by general anesthesia or by pain killers that I was taking after the op.  I will ask doctor about this persistent symptom next week.

I wonder if anyone else had similar experience?
