Post Rezum- burning pain on urination, not infection

Posted , 3 users are following.

I had Rezum in 2022. 6 injections. A few weeks into healing I started to notice penile pain after urination. I have been tested for UTI and that is negative. Tried 3 months of antibiotics for prostatitis and they did not assist. I am curious of any of you have had same or similar symptoms. My surgeon has too big of an ego to admit it was he or the procedure that caused this issue. Other docs since the procedure have indicated that it is all a symptom of the damage Rezum can cause, that there is micro-necrotic tissue that needs to resolve and it will take a long time. It has been nearly a year but has not resolved. It is interesting the burning occurs usually on urination during the night and not the day time. There must be some pattern or reason for that but I have not determined that yet. Please let me know if you have this or have any information on it. Thanks.

Hi: I had Rezūm procedure August 2022, nine months ago. The literature and doctor said it was a three month healing process. But I'm sure I still have unhealed and disrupted tissue in the prostate. I am very pleased with the results of the procedure and I am urinating like a 30 year old, very pleased. However, yes, I don't think every thing is still yet healed and am having problems similar to yours. I don't expect to have any urologist honestly discuss this with me. They stick to the script which is irritating. But I'm having very slight burning sensations in the urinary track, dull aches in the rectum area, very minor little sharper pains in the rectum area and in general can simply feel that there is unhealed tissue. By month six and seven I thought maybe it was finally healing, but just last week I passed a rubbery mucous plug the size of a nickel or dime and that night had blood in ejaculate which hadn't happened for many months now. My urologist is going to run a test for bladder infection but he is not concerned re telephone conversation with his nurse aid. It has been all slightly worrisome, but my gut feeling is that it's just not healed yet. My concern is that it might never heal. I'm staying confident that it will. I'm glad to have read your account because I think we are experiencing similar things here with the after effects of the Rezūm procedure.
