Post TURP question

Hi all. Last Wednesday i had a TURP operation, as i understand the Dr also had to stretch my urethra (urethral dilation) to get the Resectoscope in to do the TURP. I know its early days in terms of recovery and pain going away, but has anyone had experience of a very sharp stabbing pain around the head of the penis, especially if I get a night-time erection. It's the type of pain that can wake you up abruptly in the night and appears to be the cause of most of the pain and stinging when urinating. (rather than pain from the prostate area itself). Any words of wisdom or constructive input very welcome.

I had pain and irritation for a few weeks after turp and it was not nice. But I am about three years post op now and feeling good. Hang on in there. It took me 10 months to feel almost normal but well worth having the operation.

    good luck
