I had unprotected sex 2 weeks ago. This ''blister'' is sore to touch kind of. I started a new job yesterday could it be a friction blister or does it look like HSV2? sad

    Hi Jessica,

So sorry you’re going through this. From your picture I can tell you that it does appear to be a herpes lesion from the way it presents itself. The only way to know for sure is to get it cultured by a doctor ASAP. What other symptoms are you experiencing? Any flu like symptoms, swollen lymph nodes, or pain urinating? Even though genital herpes is usually hsv2 it is still possible to get hsv1 gentially (which I have). I hope you feel better and don’t hesitate to message me if you need someone to talk to. <3

So it is possible to get HSV 1 genitally???? That's what I think I have as well

I went to the doctor. They swabbed it. It will take 3 days to get back! The doctor said she thought it looked like an ingrown hair. Idk how. I will keep updated. I haven’t been sick really. A little cold maybe now that I think about it.

I’m glad you got it swabbed already. I know 3 days feels like a life time but it will be a weight off your chest once you find out the results! In my opinion it was pretty ignorant of your doctor to assume it was an ingrown hair as it appears to be herpes blisters... usually blisters appear in small clusters like you have. Ingrown hairs don’t appear as blisters and usually you can see a bump and hair follicle where it’s ingrown.

They look to be a small group of blisters which is typical of herpes. You have to be worried only if they are itchy or painful. Better get swabbed before they go

I got my results. It came back positive for HSV-2. I am broken.. How do I confront my partner and tell him he gave me HSV?

You cant be sure if he gave it to you or you have it before and just got symptoms now.

Did you do blood test? Ig M or ig G?
