Pounding fast heart beat with diverticula

I'm new to this forum, so please forgive my ignorance if this has been discussed already.
Ive recently had a flare up (allegedly). I ate something I shouldn't of, and the next day I did my usual every other day HIIT exercises.
After my exercise my left arm and shoulder started to ache and it worried me. I opened the window as the ache made me anxious. My heart started to beat very quickly and it worried me so I called an ambulance. To cut a long story short, they left with advice from the Dr that my heart is fine. The next few days weren't nice as I felt scared to eat in the event of an attack. One of the reasons I'm on this forum is because of what happened. My question is, has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know whether a flare up can aggravate a nerve which can affect my heart rate?

Hi , if it helps i have 2 bad attacks but the 2nd time i developed really bad anxiety and casused a rapid heart beat , even when i felt calmer it continued and even going for short walks i could feel my heart racing . Its pretty much gone now but ny guess it was just your body reacting to the panic !

I'm new to this forum too and have just just had my second diverticulitis bout. Both times I had the increased heart rate. l personally think mine comes from being dehydrated. My dr. said dehydration can cause rapid heart rate and she said I was dehydrated. Since drinking plenty of water I haven't noticed it again. Not positive this was the cause of mine but pretty sure.

I usually have a rapid heart rate when i have an attack. i also tremble and cant control my muscle spasms-I'm a mess when i have an episode. Sometimes its in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning after coffee. If i start with trips to the bathroom, I'm out if it for hours....chilled and laying under blankets. But yes, back to the original symptom...I do get a rapid heart rate and it scares the crap out of me!
