Hi all. Has anyone got this? I take 30mg lansoprazole a day. I respond better when i take 15mg in AM and then 15mg in PM then 30mg in one hit.

nothing unusual there. I sometimes top up my 30mg with a 15mg later in the day if I am having a bad day. However. my GP told me not to do that and take some Gaviscon instead which I found worked just as well.

It may be that 30mg is not the best dose for you and you may need more

Itd be nice if i didnt. Been on 40mg omeprazole for 5 months that stopped working even with ranitidine on top at night.

      Now on 30mg lansoprazole.

Im quite strict with diet. No alcohol for nearly two months. Hrdly ever a bit of chocolate and so on.

Considering how little they found on endoscopy im very uncomfortable. Its been months of denying myself stuff, sleeping in chair...

I still get reflux often and even witbout it my chest pains are present everyday. When i rotate my torso or raise arms above head. All this started when i ditched smoking.

I cant work much as cant cope. It affects everything and doctors seem to be very cool about it.

I never been serilusly ill or longterm ill.

Never been on regular meds until when this all started.

      Something went mad inside me.

nothing went mad inside you. I suffered for about 20yrs, drs wrote me off. New doctor gave me PPI to try, it was amazing, felt like a new person. 10yrs later after playing with the dosage a lot in the early days found a solution.

Remember that it takes a LONG TIME for the body to heal itself from all the damage that has been done. What people forget about PPI is that they are healing drug as well, which is why it is important to take the every day.

I would chat with your dr about increasing the dose for a while and see if that helps. I was never on long term meds until this. Now I don't care because I am no longer in pain with it.

Do u remember what started yr acid reflux? Were u ill or just woke up to it really?

It's something I have always had, my body makes too much acid. I use to get pain and frequent sore throats but put it down to my job and eating at irregular times. I visited doctor various times over the years and no one knew what was wrong. It got to a stage where it was almost constant and new doctor put me on the PPI.

good new is that the healing element of the PPI showed on a recent endoscopy that my acid was under control and my insides had healed. That is why PPI are so good, these home remedies only stop the reflux if you are lucky but they don't repair the damage done by the acid.m

Hello Katerina51789 I'm the same as you if I take the full dose in the morning I get symptoms but if I break it down so I take 15 mg in the morning then 15 mg before my evening meal I'm mostly ok unless I've eaten something that triggers me offf
