PR so stressful

I have just been diagnosed with PR.  I just feel like ripping my skin off. I have started the Head and Shoulders Showers and putting cream on , but the nights are such a pain , I am too hot and my skin is on fire.  I take antihistimine .  What is this rash and what triggers it . One phamacist said its a virus one said its a yeast infection , noone reqally knows about it. Your just left to deal with it , hence my reason for looking up forums.  I have had one sunbed session but plan to go regularly now.  Luckily mine cant been seen , my whole torso is covered.  I shower at least three times a day. 100ml tubes of cream last a couple of days because there is so many spots to cover.  I feel just awful . It is comforting that I am not the only one going thru it . Thanks for those who posted their home remedy treatments .  Good Luck

    Hi JO 06CL

may I suggest you stop taking so many showers, even with the head and shoulders.  Strangely enough water can be irritating in and of itself.  the

Itching does lessen as time goes by.  Some dots will fade and don't be alarmed when new crops take their place. I take Benadryl at night and Claritin during the day.  And, there will be itchy places even without the red dots.  It is a challenge.  I am pulling for you!!!  Also,  resist the urge to scratch it at all costs.  It makes it itch more!!  Dont wear tight clothing.  The looser the better.  Try to distract yourself with movies or something you like.  Carole.

Suffered my whole life, spent thousands on anti this and that, but what what they wont tell you for whatever reason is that they have an oral medication for thrush which does the same thing only you have to either ask or beg them for it, it will stop itching within hours and clear it within days and keep it gone for years. My last bout was years ago just found it coming back again aftet taking a new job in hot, sunny, muggy conditions and i swear by it so if you live in Australia its called DIZOLE not sure about other countries but ask old doc for (anti fungal ORAL medication) and hopefully you wont be the only one scratching yourself against any rough surfaces anymore.

    Hi

Are you referring to Nystatin?   This makes some sense. My first thought, after bug bite, with the PR was that it was lichen planus.

There were lichenoids in the biopsy report on my herald patch.  Carole.

    Hi guys,

to answer my own question: Dizole is a systemic anti fungal that reaches the "yeast" through the bloodstream. Dizole is Fluconazole!  Nystatin is another anti fungal that mainly treats the entire GI tract.  Both anti fungals. You can get  Caprylic acid (natural supplement) similar action in gut at local health store.  Dietary info is " stay away from SUGAR!   I know this and usually am adhering to. Sugar free diet.  Take a close look at what you are eating and drinking. Fruit juices BAD!  White flour, white rice white sugar= white poison.  we shall overcome!  Love to hear any results from others.  I am listening to myself also here.  I will become more vigilant with this.  I am so with all of you.  Carole.
