    Hi Brian,

    I am in Kent, so I would have thought about the same.

    Hi Richard

    They take bloods, ECG, weigh and measure to assess BMI, nasal and groin swabs to check MRSA. Full medical history.

    I am in Surrey and waited 2 weeks after . Pre ass takes between an hour and hour sand half. You have a form to fill in and there is a space to record all medication you are no. I printed mine of at home and they stapled it to form much easier than trying to fit info into small box. I also took note of all past medical procedures with dates. Nurses were most appreciative. Write out any questions in case you forget. They may not be able to answer all. I was then sent to occupational therapy to discuss home environment and what was needed eg. Toilet raisers, perching stool.

    Good luck

    When I had the letter giving me an appointment for my pre-assessment, there was also a form which gave me the date of my op.  There was about 10 days difference between the two.  The time differs slightly in each area.  It could also have been because it was in December and they weren't so busy then. I am in Devon.

    I nipped out of work for my preassessment. It took about an hour to do questionnaire, take bloods, weight, height etc. I was in surgery 3 weeks later in Newcastle.

    Hi

    I'm in Newcastle and it was about 3 weeks after my pre-op assessment that I had my operation

    They do all the usual, height weight BP {what did you have for breakfast LOL cheesygrin}

    They re there to answer any questions you might have so beforehand make out a list......they usually like that rather than ummm and ahhh ing. It saves time as well and makes sure you get all your questions answered.....if I didnt write a list every time I see the consultant I would come out and would have forgotten something.

    Good luck with both

    Love
