Pre Op assessment.

Just had Pre Op assessment through NHS. If all results are ok do you get confirmation of this and how long should I expect to wait for op (hip replacement..East Lancashire Hospital Trust )

I think no news from prepping is good news. Anything that needs correcting/treating before surgery will be dealt with. Differs between trusts but in mine your GP is informed and will then treat.

As to time again varies. I think MRSA screen has to be repeated sometimes if the gap between pre op and op is too long

My gap was 5 weeks, others vary considerably. What did they tell you at the pre op clinic?

    Hi helen,

I had a call the day after pre op from surgeons secretary to arrange date which was three weeks later as hubby was having a proceedure in between. Ring surgeons secretary she was the one who booked my date.

I had no confirmation. I just hung around for my op date which was ten weeks later. I had a letter. They did tell me at the pre op it would be up to 12 weeks and if longer I would need another one. I was NHS.
