You will be fine, recoup everyone different, I have had few blips so 12 weeks I am not back at work yet as had an infection and slipped in snow so set me bac but prosthetic is fine and no probs but work wise as on feet eight hours straight and a lot of bending stretchin my bosses said I have to be properly fit, but honestly have no regrets having it done as pain I was in has gone and all I have is still some op pain, sleep is getting better although can't sleep on op side still all night. Stockings u have to wear for six weeks, you have to take blood thinner tablets for around four weeks, so be careful to not cut yourself. I had a problem with morphine type tablets after op made me very sick. Just take all help offered because it's weird wen you get home you think you are fine but it takes some adapting so take your time but honestly xx IT WILL BE WORTH IT x let me know how you get on xx

Also the spine injection is not as bad as some people say I was awake and could hear wat was going on but could not feel anything

You will be okay.  I had a spinal injection and light sedation, which sent me to sleep! You have a much quicker recovery with the spinal and I would recommend it to anyone.  In fact I had a cup of tea and some toast about an hour after the op.  I wasn't given any white socks to wear afterwards, but I had ankle pumps round my legs to keep the blood flowing and dispersible aspirin to thin the blood for 6 weeks afterwards.  Don't worry, everything will be just fine.  Pay attention to what they tell you, its all good advice and do as they say for a quicker recovery and take it easy at first.  Best wishes.

Lol, that's just how I felt! I survived the pre-op ordeal and was ready to go get it done & over. Was suppose to have surgery yesterday; I was prepped, IV started, talked with anesthesia person, was given the pre op IV sedation and was ready to go to OR and my surgeon walks in. The autoclave, sterilizer for surgical instruments had broken!! The specific instrument needed for my THR would not be avaiable.

Now I have to wait for another date.  This is very rare, so you won't have to worry about it!

just think good thoughts, dream about a pain free lifestyle , and enjoy the good  vibes from this site. I'm an almost hippy like you and worry is not your friend. Relax and be happy : )

U will be fine. The spinal and sedation is a piece of cake. I never felt a thing. I did wake up half way through and saw the blue surgical sheet over my head and i just thought " blimey they could have ironed that". in other words i didnt give a monkeys. I was aware of what was going on but just didnt care. I said hello im awake and then i was out again. When i woke up i was absolutely fine. I did get the shivers for a while and they put a warm air blower under the covers which was great. Dont worry your on your way to a new life. Im 13 weeks on and back to normal its fantastic. Good luck x
