Pred and Pariet

Posted , 4 users are following.

I take pariet along with the pred. At the beginning 20mg pariet with 15mg pred. Still 20mg pariet with 3.5mg pred.

Can the pariet be reduced? Is there a level of pred at which the potential side effects don't need pariet.

Like some others I think the daily home-made probiotic yoghurt helps.

maybe better known as rabeprazole. Its the stuff that helps prevent stomach issues from eating pred. Silly me ... assumed anyone who took pred also took rabeprazole.

When I was coming off that med for a different situation it was recommended to taper to every other day - taper down further. This prevents stomach acid rebound.

      thanks,

I'll apologise in advance for having a mental picture of falling forwards on my face but being saved and brought upright again by my stomach acid rebound.

But yes, thanks again. It didn't occur to me that my stomach might have got used to it. Probably saved me some strife.
