prednisolone - Made anxiety Worse

Hello,

So I have been taking prednisoline - 30mg for 7 days (finished the course today), this was perscribed for a sinus infection that will not clear (6 months +) and drives most of my anxiety. It causes terrible sleep issues and daily just feeling rough (dizzy, foggy, balance problems, congestion etc)

They have not really helped at all to be honest. I now just have a lot of sinus pain, horrendous headcahes and it's impossible to sleep on them. Sinus infection is still there. The thing I am worried about, and hoping it's just a side effect of the tablet but it has made my anxiety skyrocket. It feels like I have drank 10 cups of coffee - guessing it's the steriod effect.

I am shaky, weak legged, my heart is racing constantly, I can't focus on anything yet feel like I am physically shaking and hypersensitive to everything. I am getting that overwhelming urge to just walk out of work.

It's hard to explain but I just feel horrendous, and everyday is a grind. I have not been like this since my first anxiety experience last year!. I really hope it's just the tablets and it will level out again because I am sick of feeling like this and hope it's not here to stay.

Camomile tea and propranolol isn't calming me and I don't drink any caffiene.

Do you think I need to ask the doctor about a different Anxiety Medication now?

Steroids suck for anxiety. And are positive its your sinus doing this and not a tmj/tmd thing. It needs to leave your system now. Takes time to do that. And it will go back to whatever level of anxiety you had before it.

I was told by a consultant physician that steroids can cause these signs and symptoms that you have described. What does the ear nose and throat specialist say?
