Prednison does not work for me

Question to members about prednisone. I've taken a lot of pred as far as "z packs" I think that's what they are called, and am prescribed prednisone 50 mg for flairs, also took a lot of mepo dredro shots. I do not notice that they relieve pain at all really. One time the mepo dedro shot worked in 24 hours other than that it's the same with or without prednisone. I had an accident yesterday and fell down the stairs hitting my tailbone on the last 3 concrete steps. I was unable to get up and passed out twice from shock. We went to the ER and I got a shot of morphine and had the dr give me a mepo dedro shot as my shoulders started flairing immediately and was about a 7. This morning the other shoulder started in and it was the excruiciating pain where you cannot move your arm or get comfy. Luckily it comes and goes and switches with the other shoulder so far. I took 50 mg prednisone but the only difference I see is that I am wired up for over 24 hours. I have halfed them to 25 mgs and do not see any difference. Anyone out there that prednisone does not work for?

Hi, so sorry you are having such a hard time. Prednisone worked for me, I felt great while on it but I wanted to warn you that it can raise Eye pressure. This happened to me and I now have glaucoma and I was never on that high of a dose. I had to stop taking it, even z paks for a sinus infection raised my pressure and I had to have my eyes lasered to bring it down. I would not take it if it is not helping and I would advise you to get your eye pressure checked. Good luck!

Hello, I have used prednisone 3 times only as high as 30mg tapering down each week a month at a time. I never had any benefit from this I also don't respond to steroid injections. My specialist is think now I have psoriatic arthritis as he thinks this would explain my non- response to the steroids and that my blood work is so up and down. I've just started leflunomide along with my metoject. After 7 months of sulfaszaline and metoject with no reaponse. Sorry to hear about you fall hope you feel better soon.
