Prednisone

Hey everyone, 

I’m here because of Ann allergic reaction to some medication and my tongue swellled up on. I went the hospital. Before I was discharged I was given 3 20mg pills and a prescription for 8 more in which I would be on my last dose come Tuesday. Just need some support getting through this situation...I’m going crazy right now trying figure out if I’m ever going to same after this, I’m so nervous!!!!!

    So sorry you had to go thru this. I understand been there done that not fun at all.

    Generally the ER sends a care slip home with you to follow. In most cases in my experience if ur in the US. Also one follow up appt is also ok with the ER doctor per instructions . It could also be a good idea to follow up if you have any questions with the ER doc to check in with your PC.

    Hope you are doing well. Getting thru a allergic reaction can be a matter of time.

    Prednisone is a wonder drug so it should work well. You should not have side effects taking it for such a short space of time.

    Although very effective at reducing inflammation there are a number of side effects associated with prednisolone. It is quite common to have emotional upheaval. When taking these I felt amazing 'highs' when I also had a ravenous appetite but also some pretty bad 'lows'. It is important that you share these feelings with your GP or specialist who may provide an alternative or other help. I wish you well.
