I had the same thing, but it was early on, perhaps even before my pred treatment began.  I think it's more due to pmr than to pred.

The rash was what looked like pimples, but didn't much respond to washing and the little spots were painful if pressed upon.  Mostly about my abdomen, but a smaller number on my face.  This lasted for some months and then went away some time after I started on pred.  This was a couple of years ago.

This sounds like something which the pred suppresses at higher levels.  I don't know why you'd have it now if you didn't before pred.  I had dry itchy skin and a tendency to allergic dermatitis all my life, the latter worse as a child, the former as I got older. My skin has been much better since being on pred, even at my current low dose.  So I'd check with a doctor but to me it sounds like something the pred is treating, not causing.  Have you changed your skin care products or are you eating something different?  I react to things like food additives so avoid them.  And have to use very mild unscented or naturally scented soap.

The Pred definitely darkened/reddened existing skin marks on me. So what was a genetic skin condition that perhaps was exacerbated by the sun and with which I lived for 30+ years, is now an ugly mass of marks on arms and legs that actually has the curious asking if I have measles! I hope one day I will reduce Pred sufficiently for them to fade.

What you have described are two or three of the 'least common' side effects of pred.  You need to discuss this with your Medics.

They can give you medication to alleviate the problem.

Currently as pred was first used in 1949 and is now well documented with 83 side effects listed  (probably more to come as we change our way of living and that is what the Yellow Card Scheme is for) I hasten to assure you that they are classed as common, less common, rare, very rare and extremely rare and nobody that I know has ever had all 83 and I have not encountered during the past 9 years anyone with a classification above less common  - that does not mean that they do not occur - it just means I have not come across anyone to date.
