Sorry to hear this. Specifically what kind of difficulties are you experiencing? There are two common reasons for people to have trouble tapering their pred dose. One is that the disease is still active and they need the current dose for a bit longer. Another is reducing the dose too quickly which can cause pain exactly like PMR. We avoid this by using a very slow taper plan, and reducing the dose in small steps. We are all different in our experience of PMR and our responses to the medication can differ too. Very few people are actually able to follow to the letter the reducing plan of even the best-intentioned doctor. Our symptoms trump any textbook.

Not entirely clear what you mean - do you mean you are finding it difficult to reduce your dose?
How have you been trying to reduce your dose? How big are the steps and how often do you make them?
