Get off this medicine! I had the same side effects and it's horrific!! It doesn't suite certain people.
I've come off it for over 4 weeks and I feel much better. If it's GAD than you're best bet is therapy or discuss with your GP for other meds.
Diazepam is a quick fix but not a long term fix unfortunately.
Currently talking beta blockers for anxiety which seem to work a treat.
All the best

I was taking 50mg twice a day, then cut that down to once a day over a week, then dropped to 25mg a day over a week, and then 25mg every other day. You really sent taking that much of it so the withdrawals shouldn't last long.
People have commented that this is a wonder drug and I'm sure it is for some. If it doesn't agree with you then knock it on the head.
I was advised to go up to 200mg twice a day bit literally was too scared of the idea!!!
There are other things to try.
What is your main problem?

I have been taking Pregabalin capsules 100mg three times a day for two years now and have had no side effects, as far as I know. It is prescribed to help with pain from my neck, shoulder and arm. I use it with Tramadol 50mg capsules one or two up to four time a day. I know this might not seem much help but what I am trying to say is that it doesnt have to be all bad and gloomy. Being on these drugs should help your condition but you might find that symptoms become worse before they settle down, anything up to three to five weeks. Hang on in there if you can and talk about anything to anyone to help you through. Im new on this site, but if you realy want to let go you can hit me on the chin with it. But YOU MUST promise to see your doc if you just go on and get them stopped or changed.

As you know I am very new to this site and am still finding my feet as to how the site works so I don't really know what the problem is. Could you display the error you are getting in case it's some setting that I have set up wrong.

I can see that you are really going through the mill with your meds and with these thoughts you are having you need to talk to someone. Have you got family, close friends that you can trust and talk to ? One thing that I can promise you is that you are not alone and you can beat it.
This might not be the best time to share the following with you but I think I should clarify why I take Pregabalin and that good can come from it. I was prescribed it together with Tramadol about two years ago to help with horrendous pain from my Neck, Right Shoulder, Forearm, Hand and Fingers and it did help a lot. I could also top it up with Paracetamol as required. It still troubles me today, less often but just as intense if not more so. But for Depression and Anxiety I take Dothiepin / Dosulepin and Quetiapine /Seroquel, which I have taken since September 2005. It took about two to three weeks for them to “kick in” during which time I would fall asleep on the sofa. But when things settled down I was able to function somewhat normally just so long as I had no mental pressure. I still suffer panic attacks and days of complete hopelessness , but do get through them with support. Night times can be really bad with the most weird of dreams sometimes I can remember them in detail. I do take sleeping tablets but I’m not sure they do much. The idea being that they make you sleepy and cause you to go into a “false” sleep so by the time they have worn off you should be sleeping properly. But it doesn’t stop those dreams.
If you want, I can give you my e-mail if you can’t get message to work. I did message you with it yesterday so don’t know if you got it ok. The error you gave could either be “site down” or a simple problem with your end. The particular error has a range of possibilities which I know does not help much.

In the early day's after I was first diagnosed with depression and panic attacks, all I wanted to do was hide untill it had gone away and to hide I slept. When I first started dothiepin It knocked me for a six. Didnt know what day it was I just new I was home and I would sleep and sleep and it went on for about two to three weeks so when my body got used to it I slept less and less during the day and began to feel less vulnerable. So it does get better that I can promise you but no two people are the same. It might take someone ten day's somebody else three weeks and in VERY RARE it just might not work for you and you will need a tweak and change of your medication. But remember no matter what, you will feel like your old self and be in control.
