Pregabalin again!

I tried Pregabalin couple of years ago for a few months. I didn't see much difference. My doc has put me back on it and said I would benefit more when I up the dose to 100mg a day and take it for longer. Can anyone tell me what their experiences are of this drug? My doc is also checking my vitamin D levels. Has anyone had a vitamin D defiency?

I must agree with both Scabzy and rosemary62797. This drug really does agree with me also, I wouldn't be without it. But I am sure rosemary62797 is also correct when she says that this drug can be very toxic to some people and I am quite sure that it is addictive.
I have type 2 diabetes and was prescribed Pregablin over a year ago by my GP. I was suffering from pain in my hands, feet and colon. After taking this drug the pain has gone away. I do feel a bit unstable moving around sometimes but I can cope with that.
Pregabalin also affects me mentally. I now feel much more motivated and capable, it also makes me feel quite happy about things generally. I have tried coming off it but I experience the usual aches and pains plus a complete lack of motivation to do anything.
I am taking 200mg three times per day which I think is considered the maximum dose.
Please remember we are all different and I would recommend that you do what your GP advises because he obviously has medical knowledge ondrug side effects and drug interactions with anything else you are taking.
I hope this is of some help to you and wish you well.
Best regards
bob.

Bren75862 has done the same as I did by accident. I don't think you are supposed to double up on a drug if you forget to take the first dose but I accidently took two 200mg tablets and the effect was no pain at all but it made me really daft for several hours. I was highly motivated but my co-ordination was shot to pieces. I could think OK so perhaps Pregablin does not seem to get through the blood brain barrier but it seems to shut your nerves down and you feel like you are drung. I am not recommending this in any way but at least you have been advised of the effect by two of us. I would add that you should always take this drug as your GP prescribes for safety reasons.
Please stay safe.
Best regards
Bob.

I know exactly what bren75862 is saying. The trouble is, some of us find this drug so nice to take that we are very tempted to take too much again. We all have different body chemistry and if your brain receptors line up with Pregabalin you will feel absolutely great on the stuff. I am definitely one of those people and I would suggest that bren75862 is the same. Perhaps it is because we are male or because we are about the same age. It could be that we have similar chemistry. I would love to hear from a female member of this forum who experiences the same euphoric feelings, this would indicate that it is just your personal chemical make up which determines how you feel. The trouble is, you could become addicted very quickly. Could someone give us some advice on this?
Hope you are feeling well aabb.
Best regards
