Pregablin for Peripheral neuropathy

Hi there, I have been taking pregabglin for about 6 weeks now for peripheral neuropathy and I'm upto 150mg twice a day. I was having huge problems in my arms and legs, you name a symptom and I had it. The pills do reduce the pain but I still have problems with my hands and feet. What I'm concerned about is that the pain has been replacedby other pain. My joints are the worst but the rest of my arms and legs feel like dead weights and it is very painful. Has anyone else had this problem?

I also take the night does as I go to bed and manage to sleep for about 4hrs before the pain wakes me up and then jus have to lie there in pain or get up. Any suggestions on how to make the dose last longer or just take another does?

Hi there sorry my hands get crampy typing. Your doc should increase the dose for you. I feel your pain. I have been put on Gabapentin but think my dose also needs increased. Such a horrible thing this is to deal with it causes so many symptoms.

I'm taking 4x75mg at night which is great, I'm asleep within minutes of getting into bed. I'm sleeping 7 or 8 hrs whch is fantastic as before with the peripheral neuropathy I would lie awake in pain for hours. I wake up aching and with a headache but at least I'm able to sleep again

The problem I have really is during the day. I seem to get a lot of the side effects. My limbs are aching and I have a headache most of the time. I'm exhausted but won't nap just incase I won't sleep at night (but I probably would be ok) I've just not got the urge to do anything and have to make myself. Just simple things like cleaning the flat take forever. I'm making myself go out shopping but that takes forever and I have to buy less then I did because I just can't carry what I did. I'm trying to make sure I eat properly but seem to be only cooking every other day, I just don't feel I have the energy to do it so will have a sandwich. I should be taking 4x75mg during the day but I've worked out that it's too much for me, I'm just zonked out on that many so take 2 or 3 usually. 2 if I need to go out. I just couldn't function on 4

I was at the hospital earlier just getting my bloods done and got upset about it all but there was nothing the nurse could do for me. She suggested I have a chat with the nurse specialist but I'm seeing the specialist in 3wks so I will cope until then.

I know I'm having really bad side effects but they're allowing me to get some sleep so the side effects are worth it. Before taking them I had a lot of pain in my arms and legs, that pain has now more or less replaced with a different pain even tho I have the original pain in my hands and feet and think that may actualy be a bit worse then it was. I have a headache most of the time and walk hunched over but again, I can sleep on them. I'm scared that theconsultant is going to hear what I'm going through and change the prescription and the new tablets won't allow me to sleep. I dread going back to that

Someone told me that it'll never be cured, it just has to be managed. I'm going to ask about an appt with the pain management clinic. I need some help

Have you managed to get your dose increased? I'm upto the limit and with most things I'll take the extra odd one but I'm not going to go over with these
