I am sorry that your Doctor told you to just stop taking Pregabalin. Go back to him/her and point out that on the patient leaflet accompanying this drug it says NEVER to just stop as you are at risk of seizures if you do. The symptoms you describe are well known withdrawals and you need to go back on to Pregabalin and then taper off slowly and carefully. There is a good support group called Lyrica Survivors (Pregabalin support), it is a closed group and gives excellent support and information on this drug. I wish you well in the future but you really do need to taper off not suddenly stop.

Yes, the group is on Fb. It has so much information about this drug. You may feel alright now, but it can still come back to bite you. Join the group and see what they say. Cover all your options Charli. You were on quite a high dose, and the Central Nervous System reacts very badly in most cases to suddenly stopping. Please try to realise that at the high dose you were on it would be most unusual to get away with just stopping, full stop! It took me a year to taper off and my withdrawals were not nice but it was worth it. The group were very helpful to me and I made some friends for life, although I am no longer a member. I do like to try to dissuade others from taking this medication because I know what it can do, and does. I guess I just owe it to everyone to at least try to stop this drug being given out like sweeties and Doctors just not realising the consequences.
I do hope you are right, and that you have got away with with just stopping - as you say, it has been the worst experience of your Life. If withdrawals continue to plague you, please contact the group and get help from them. xx

Yes it really does need to be stopped carefully. My husband was one of the lucky ones, coming off Pregablin, with little or no affects, but that was probably because he did it gradually. Good Luck.
