Pregnancy and endo. Have a couple questions. Help!

A couple months ago my Dr. told me I have possible endometriosis. She advised me that birth control would lower the pain and I had been on the depo-provera shot before so I went back on it. So now it's been a couple months and the pain has gone away. I do have occasional pain sometimes though - not too bad.

Well now I'm looking to get the ball rolling on starting a family. Last time I got off the depo shot it took my body a full year to get back to having periods and being normal! I'm worried that when I get off birth control, that I will be in even more pain and it will take me a lot longer to get pregnant. Has anyone else had this issue? Just looking for some advise.

Allison, no one can ever accurately predict how long it will take a woman to get pregnant, with or without endo. Some people are going to tell you that you must be infertile due to endo, and that's a falsehood. Fluctuating hormone levels in menopause is how so many older women find themselves with surprise pregnancies, so I say start working on it but stay relaxed about it because it could take your body a long time to settle.
