hi guys. Friday june 12 i skipped the last step in our basement playroom to avoid stepping on my sons toys and landed directly on my ankle with a huge snap fracturing it in 2 places. i had ORIF surgery just 4 days ago. being 27 weeks pregnant, i had to endure the surgery awake with a spinal block. ive also been on minimal pain meds due to wanting to not affect the baby. i only have about 4 narcotics left until my appointment in 3 days. the first say after surgery was unbearable in terms of pain. i was doing better but then of course i managed to fall onto my splinted ankle before bed last night and am now unable to sleep due to the pain. im hoping the fall didnt set me back as my baby is due sept 17 and im hoping to be recovered enough to sufficiently care for him. i guess i dont have any questions...just looking to feel less alone laying here in pain with just tylenol at 3:30 in the morning.

**I hear your pain! I cringed when you described your accident because as most know here, you described all of our pain when we had our falls, slipped , car accidents or just crappy feet!
If you think you need more pain med don't hesitate to call them and ask. I waited and waited and when I finally got the courage up to call, they were so helpful. When I saw my surgeon the next time he asked me not to wait!
These are big surgeries and take a lot of time to heal and feel better. Then of course you go through the "holy crap, what did I do to myself?" phase . And then the Screw this phase and the never ending depression phase!Go easy on yourself , its such a long recovery!
I remember feeling great and then I got to big in the head about moving around and fell right on my butt! lol Funny now, not then!
Keep smiling , when you can! 😃 **
