Pregnant and Ureteral Stent

I am 34 weeks pregnant and was hospitalized last week with severe flank and abdominal pain and nausea.

They gave me IV fluids and did a renal ultrasound, which they said LOOKED like I had a kidney stone, but cannot tell for sure without doing a CT scan, but thats not recommended for pregnant women.

My pain was so bad and was only relieved with IV drugs and even then did not last long. I opted for the stent placement, under the impression that the side affects of that would ease up within days of the procedure.

This has not been the case. I am absolutely miserable. The flank pain is still there but manageable with narcotics. However, the bladder and urethra pain is absolutely agonizing. I pee. I stand up. I feel the urge to pee again, like my bladder and urethra are contracting. I feel like I need to sit on the toilet all day. When I do finally decide to get up and walk away from the toilet, I have to walk hunched over because the pain is so bad. I have been taking Azo pills for a week now, and their efficacy is waning.

I am in tears several times a day and I feel like anymore of this is literally going to make me go insane.

I am considering calling the urologist first thing on Monday and see about getting the stent taken out.

Does anyone have advice? I want to enjoy my last month of pregnancy as much as I can but this issue has taken over my entire life.
