Premique Low Dose - Not in stock anywhere?

After many years on Premique Low Dose, I now find it is not in stock at any Chemists. Is anyone else having the same problem? If so, is there a similar HRT I can change to?

      Hi Julie

I only joined this site today and I had the exact same experience, but I my new prescription was handed to me without consultation by the chemist, I was given estell duet which is awful, I have gained weight and have sweats and very bad mood swings. I had no bad side effects at all on premique.  Have you mamaged to get your prescription

Hello, I know I'm rather late joining the discussion but I've been taking Premerique 0.625 for a couple of years with food results for night sweats etc, but now they also seem to be impossible to get hold of!  My GP obviously didn't know as I had them on repeat as usual but no chemist has them and now I have been given femoston-conti 1mg.  But having read in your thread that  some ladies have had spotting an sweats I'm wondering if anyone has found the perfect alternative to Premerique?

Thanks for for your help in advance as I'm very worried about spotting as I'm a very heavy spotter!!

Hi Joy - before I saw my GP I spoke to my chemist - the exact match is Premarin 0.625mg ( conjugated estrogens ) and Provera 5mg ( medroxyprogesterone ) if you look on the side of your Premique box this is correct. The GP started to look up an alternative and was intent on offering one that was on her list that was one tablet. I insisted that I wanted to remain on exact formular even though I have to take two tablets. Just ensure that you take together. Been on new tablets for one month - no problems whatsoever.

Hi GATT, thanks so much for your reply, but it's the premerique 0.625 that I can't get anymore! So I've been given Femoston-conti instead and I'm just hoping they will be similar?  But thanks for the tip, I shall compare the old with the new on the side of the packet as I must admit I've not noticed that on the box! Thanks again!

Hi joy, I've just been told that Premique has now been discontinued and my doctor has offered me Prempak-C as an alternative. I've just pick-up my first pack to start later this week. I have no idea if this is a good alternative or not, I can't go back to pre-hrt, this is what the doctor has prescribe, so going to try it. I'm going to have to do some research of my own. I'm also going to look-up the alternative your doctor has given you. Premique really worked for me, so a know how you geel.

Yes me to! Loved my premique! Told by company in Kent that manufacturing of that tablet will not be before March 2017. Just started taking Kliovance every other day with mixed feelings! Spotting! Shock horror at 61 not good! Just playing a waiting game now. With some hot sleepless nights.

      Shaz 😕

Hi Sharon, i was also on Premique for many years, prescribed a couple of alternatives that didn't suit so came off HRT altogether last april, went back on for various reasons late last year and am taking tibolone/Livial which is fine, happy with the results, no weight gain, no adverse side effects, I am 65 next month and my GP happy to prescribe.

Thank you so much Sandra. I'm going to make an appt. to try your one sounds better than the Kliovance!

We shall prevail! Not sleeping well now either with twitchy legs (I had forgotten about that!)

      Thanks once again x😊

      Hi sharon

i was put on Kliovance the last time premique 0.3mg was out of stock but I was told to take one every day. I had no problems. I was wondering why he told you to take it every other day.

      hi sandra

do you take your alternative every day and what dosage is it. My premique was 0.3mg. Thanks

Hi, my doctor gave me Prempak.C as an alternative and i didn`t like it at all. If it`s the same one you take one a day for so many days and then take two a day. When i got onto the two a day i got period pains and spotting ! Not good at 65.

Hi, Sandra has advised me that she is on Livial . So I'm going to try this. I looked it up on google and was impressed with what I read about libido etc, and it's really good for your bones and heart. Also there are two different doses . I'm going to ask for the lower one.

      Watch this space!

Hi red tabby, because it is a higher dose than yours 1mg. Doc said cut in half or take every other day!. It gives me chronic indigestion as well. Terrible bloating and 4lb weight gain in a month! I stopped taking it now and have an app. To change to Livial.

Please bring back premique Pfizer. We dying out here! Just want to feel normal again. My skin is so dry as well.

Hi silver.duchess, not liking the sound of that. I'll give them ago as this is the first option given to me. I say first, as I'm not putting up with something that's not working for me, period pains and spotting is definitely, out! Have you found something that works for you?

In the meantime I'll be doing some research so I'm better informed if I have to go back to the doctors.

Yes do some research before you see your doctor. Mine didn`t really know what to give me, so he left me in his office while he went next door to speak to the pharmacist ! I am now on Elleste Duet which i will start tomorrow, so who knows how it will work. I also think a female doctors are better with HRT matters, good luck.

Hi , I've been given Elleste duet as well on Saturday. Will start taking it tomorrow . But I have noticed that it is a high dose 2mg/1mg combined tablet. So thinking of cutting it in half? Not sure. Let's hope they approve the licence for premium soon!

      Hi Sharon

7 weeks ago duty doctor put me on ellese duet. Side effects for me awful. Sore breasts, head ache and bloating. Actually put on half a stone in weight. Spoke to my actual GP who has took me off while she discusses with a specialist who put me on premique 2 years ago. So at the moment not taking anything.

Oh no poor you - started taking half a tablet today. Mine was the duty doctor as well! Oh god getting so confused about what to do! I will soon know as they work really quickly on me. 😕

The first doctor a had was an older female doctor, she was wonderful, she had been through it all and could really relate, then she retired. All the doctors at my surgery are under 45 only one female and she's in her early 30's. I have to say that I'm having problems with relating to any of them.

Looking forward to hearing how you get along with the Ellest Duet. I'll keep you informed as to how I'm getting on with Prempak.C.

      Good Luck smile
