Due a lap and hysteroscopy one week from today, what shall I expect? I've had my appendix out last month and was absolutely fine recovering however I have vaginismus so i'm worried about the hysteroscopy, can somebody reassure me that my muscles will be completelly relaxed whilst under general anaesthetic? Would love to know if theres anything I need to know before and after. Thanks in advance!

    Hello Laura

I had a Laperoscopy in September last year, It was quick and simple. I was in the hospital at 8am and took down at 9:10am, I was the second person to go for the surgery, they staff were lovely and comforting and before I knew it, I woke up in the recovery room. I was in theatre for about 20mins and when I was taken back to the ward they offered me tea and toast. I was able to leave the hospital at 4pm the same day. It's a little sore afterwards to laugh and bend but I was fully healed within a week.

    Hope this helps a little

    Good Luck

Did you ask the doctor/surgeon about this? If not, call the nurse.

Managed to speak to the pre-op nurse, all good. Muscles fully relaxed whilst under general anaesthetic..phew!

I thought that would be the case but one never knows for sure unless we hear from the particular doc. I'm so happy that you've got less to worry about. That sounds funny but I think you know what I mean.

Hoping for the best possible outcome for you next week.
